Week 1: Being a Project Manager/Developer/…

boss resignation + Dad passed away + project deadlines = TOUGH WEEK

It was a tough week. After my dear boss left, my best Dad’s burial, stress and pressures around I didn’t have a choice. I have to go back to work and take over with the responsibilities.

New responsibilities, more expectations, greater accountability.

I am expected to:

  • Delegate effectively
  • Retain talent in your team
  • Grow knowledge and capacity/capability of team
  • Assistance in completing/winning new accounts
  • Grow project management knowledge
  • Expand general knowledge
  • Help in making sure that existing clients are satisfied

…and more, more expectations for myself and by the company.
…plus back logs and other development works.

Project Manager – a very challenging role for a high-spirited, young lady starting to explore ...

Upgrading Vanilla Forum

We’ve been working on this Vanilla forum upgrade from v1.1.2 to v 1.1.8  for a certain client since yesterday.  After successfully running Vanilla 1.1.8, we got three issues

  • Password hash is now different thus users can’t login anymore using their old password.
  • Problem in signing out. Maybe because of the customized theme that we use.
  • SEO friendly links to the forum (since it is embedded in a custom website) doesn’t work anymore. I’m still trying to figure out

I really need help to make it work seamlessly.  I almost spent the whole day working on this simple upgrade.

A gift to a boss, mentor, partner and a friend

Farewell gift to a boss, mentor, partner and a special friend

Now that I can’t ask you to stay anymore,I want to say…

Thank you…

…for bringing out the best in me
…for helping me develop in my profession
…for sharing me your skills, knowledge and resources
…for giving me a chance to prove myself
…for believing in my ability
…for showing me more reasons to be someone better
…for touching my life and my innermost sensitivity

Sorry…
…if some times I failed to meet your expectation
…for letting things happen that should really not
…and for being so “stupid” during those times

Farewell…
…to a great boss
…to an inspiring mentor
…to the best partner in work and in crime
…to a sweet and a very special friend

As we go in our separate ways…

I promise…
…to keep on reaching our dreams
…to take good care of everything you entrusted me
…to keep learning and g...

Devotion of Suspect X

Suspect X

Amazed with the first scene of the movie so my interest was caught to watch the whole thing. I also got curious with the  genius Mathetician and the brilliant Physicist (‘m really interested with G people ;) ).

When my friend told me the title of the movie, I didn’t really have the interest to watch ‘coz I thought it will be a harsh, and brutal movie (and I don’t really like those kind). But after seeing the first scene made me recall my Physics class – one of my favorite subject during high school and college, and gave me excitement watching it.

I admired Ishigami, the mathematician for devicing the alibi. He was able to create a perfect plot of events to make the police believe to the statement of Yasuko Hanaoka, the suspect.

I also like the approach of Yukawa in analyzing t...

Missing Web Developer Toolbar

I didn’t really know how it was lost. All I can remember is I run the Firefox updates and when I try to get back to browser, the Web Developer Toolbar is missing. Even in the Tools menu, it is missing. After trying to disable-enable it and uninstall-install it, I tried searching Google and finally got this blog.

After reading the post and going through the comments I tried to disable the Skype extension. Whew! Great it worked! I don’t know what’s wrong with the Skype extension. But as far as I can remember both addons are running together. Anyways,  I can leave without the Skype addon. :)
