I found my new love: CULINARY ARTS

17 Oct 2009Bhee falling in love again? Yeah. I’m in love with culinary arts – the art of cooking (from Wikipedia). I just got an interest to learn preparing foods and drinks like shake, salads, pasta, steak, and the like.
Everything started with a project plan that supposedly started early this year. A personal project, an investment that is to purchase kitchen utensils and cooking equipments. I thought it will just be a plan this year and probably become a reality next year. But then, because of being so exhausted and my desire to do something new and different not related with my current work, this idea pops in my mind the other night. How about trying to learn cooking and preparing special foods during weekend?
Then I remembered my plan to purchase a blender (way back December 2008). Since I got the funds now, I didn’t end the day without having the blender brought home. I bought some fruits,cookies and milk – perfect for shake. This will be my first lesson, preparing shake. So the fun starts tonight! Yey! I really feel so excited.
I’ll be posting my experience here and what I’ve learned as I start loving and learning culinary arts. If you have recipes that you want to share, I’ll be glad to know them.
Next investment, measuring spoons and cups and hopefully oven. Makes me look forward for the next months. For sure this will be super fulfilling and fun.

What occupies my mind along with this busy day

14 Oct 2009People come and go in our life. We may not know their purpose and intentions. What matters, we are happy because they came.
Never let someone fall, if friendship is all you can offer.
In life, we always have choices.
Whether we choose to be good or to be happy.
We can’t add more water in a filled glass.
We can’t learn something new and understand if we have a pre-occupied mind.
We can’t move on if we keep holding with our past.
We can’t enjoy others’ company if we are still hooked with past relationships.
Sometimes, God empties our hands to have enough space for His coming blessings.
It won’t be a meaningful trip if you didn’t learn from the journey.
It’s hard to miss someone. But it’s harder if you can’t even tell that you do.

For Richer, For Poorer Seminar by Chinkee Tan

11 Oct 2009Disturbed, I am really disturbed and I could say, Ptr. Chinkee is very successful in his seminar because he really disturbed my mind – not only financially but my whole being (you might not believe me, but it’s true).
I just want to share some random thoughts that I learned:
“Our money mindset determines our financial life”
“Being sincere in doing things isn’t enough because sometimes what we are doing is sincerely lie”
“Good Mindset + Good Actions = Good Results”
“What you believe in life becomes truth”
…and the most important thing
“I deserve to become RICH”
…and soon in time, I’ll become rich.
And I’ll be learning and sharing more as I read on his book and know the secrets of the rich.
It was really worth it attending the seminar. I was urged to save, to change some habits, and to evaluate how I spend my money and my time. Now I got a better understanding why do I keep doing some things, why do I believe this and that and why do I react this way.
So thanks to Ptr. Jayson Lo for inviting me and for my friend who attended the seminar with me. It was indeed a wonderful time learn and start a better financial life.

Sometimes the more we want to be honest with our feeling, the more painfull it will be to others;
Sometimes the longer we choose to stay, the more we get distant;
Sometimes the more we try to correct mistake, the more we commit;
Sometimes the more we try to follow our heart, the more things get complicated.

1 Sep 2009Pagod. Masakit ang katawan. Puno ang isipan. Nagugulumihanan. May pangamba sa kalooban.
Sa pagkakataong ito iyan ang aking nararamdaman. Nais ng magpahinga ngunit may mga tungkulin kailangan gampanan.
Sa bawat araw ng ating paglalakbay sa landas ng buhay, iba-ibang bagay ang ating nararanasan. May mga taong dumarating sa ating, meron naman nagpapaalam. May pangyayaring pilit nating tinatalikuran. May mga problemang nais nating solusyonan.
Minsan tayo’y lumulukso sa tuwa, minsan nama’y lumuluha ang mata sa dinaramdam. Minsan labis tayong mapang-unawa. Minsa’y naiinis na lang basta. May mga pagkakataong ni hindi natin kayang magalit. Meron din namang konting labis tayong naiinip.
Labis tayong nag-aalala sa iba. Sobra-sobra ating pag-aalaga. Kahit di natin alam kung tayo’y may mapapala basta ang nais nati’y kaligayahan ng iba. Walang pumipilit, ginagawa natin itong kusa.
Sadya nga yatang magulo ang aking isipan. Ang sulating ito, di rin alam ang patutunguhan. Di rin matanto kung ano ba talaga ang nais ipaalam.
Marahil nga lahat ng tao’y dumaraan sa ganitong kalagayan. Nawa ako’y maunwaan at sana’y may makarinig sa tahimik na sigaw ng aking kalooban.
Random lessons learned and realizations during the week

29 Aug 2009It’s been tough week – tight project deadlines + surprises (really unexepected circumnstances) +…+…+…, really taught me a lot of lessons
- Whatever makes you happy go for it. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than what you did” – Francis Kong
- Surprises are meant to surprise us. Therefore each day be prepared for any surprise that will come.
- In decision making, don’t rush. Wrong decisions can never be taken back and its result can never be reverted
- God allows things to happen for a reason and a purpose… To teach us lessons for our own good and the people around us
- We can’t be everything to everyone. We can’t play all the roles in everyone’s life. We can’t please everybody.
- Never burnout your mind, body and emotion. It will affect everything.
- When we commit mistake, better admit it early than pretending we didn’t. Don’t lie as well. It will create more trouble in the long run.
- No matter how our clients pressures us on deadlines, remember they are still our clients. They paid for our salaries.
- If your expectations aren’t met, set higher expectations next time.
- Emotional pressure > Work Pressure. It’s really far harder and disturbing. Finally,
- It isn’t always the best man wins. It isn’t always the best applicant is hired. It isn’t always the best employee receives the award. It isn’t always the best team wins the championship game. It isn’t always the best guy wins a woman’s heart.
Really random isn’t it? It only means one thing, the past week is indeed very stressful in the body, mind and heart.
And the highlight….

Career Talk @ IIT

20 Aug 2009Ma’am Tikay, the GC invited me to do a career talk. With my desire to go home in La Union, see my former instructors and the IIT staff, visit Ma’am Rocky at DOST-I, and go to my former boarding house I grabbed to opportunity without even thinking twice .
