Anawangin Cove, San Antonio Zambales
March 12, 2010

It was a weekend when I badly needed to unwind, make up my mind and divert my attention to something else plus my desire to see the talk-of-the-town Anawangin Cove brought me to this place.

This was my first time to say “yes” to Mama Jaie to join them in a supposedly three-hour climb that turned to almost seven hours hike. It was also my first time to mingle with the so-called “mountaineers” – understood their reasons why they love mountaineering, got an idea about the tools and gadgets they use.

Some note to those who wants to visit the place

  • There’s no electricity, no hotels or cottages so everyone will be in camping style.
  • Price of goods there is very expensive – Absolute Mineral Water 1 Gl – P150, Candle P25
  • If you plan to hike to reach the cove, make sure to hire a good guide. It’s hard get lost on top of the mountain and go down the rocks where there’s no trail.

There I’ve met really great, cool and interesting guys and gals who made this experience really memorable.

Falling leaf from the blog, Does “Almost Fall” count as a favorite season?

Falling leaf from the blog, Does “Almost Fall” count as a favorite season?"

When the LEAF falls to the ground, whose fault is it? Is it the wind that blew it? Is it the branch that let it go? Or is it the leaf that didn’t hold tight?”

This started in a conversation with a friend while walking out of the MRT station. We are havin’ a girl talk and I told her, I hope this time, “he” won’t do the same thing as “this guy” did. So she started sharing an analogy about the fallen leaf that led it to a discussion about life at work, at home and in a relationship.

When a leaf falls, no one’s to be blamed because it happens naturally. Same thing at work. When an employee leaves, who’s fault is it? Is it the employee who is not happy or is not performing a good job? Is it the boss who neglected the employee and didn’t give him a good direction? (even employees who are properly paid and taken cared of leaves) Is it the new company who hired the employee? Read the rest of this entry »

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit. Read the rest of this entry »

I had a pre-selling presentation this morning, on-going project discussion in the afternoon, shortly attended social media forum and picked up my at the bus terminal. Really tired. I should be resting, but I feel like writing. It’s been a long time since my last blog post. I didn’t even have time to write my Anawangin getaway experience. Read the rest of this entry »

To laugh often and much;

To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;

To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;

To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;

To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.

This is to have succeeded.

I attended the recently held PHP Summit 2010 at Rembrandt Hotel, Tomas Morato. I never expected that the crowd is as big as it was. I’m glad to have a chance to learn about PHP and ASP.Net Interoperability and Website Scalability.

I also had a good time with my team mates Gibelle and Jeru and happy to meet a friend from Cebu, Raymond.

Congrats to the PHPUG especially to the volunteers for making the event a success.

People just come and go in our life. They started as strangers; then they become acquaintances; later on a friendship is developed and intimate relationship starts. These relationships are formed and nurtured in school, at work, social gatherings, in our community, and even at home. Read the rest of this entry »

Fasting? Yes! You’ve read it right. This is my first time to join this annual 7 days of prayer and fasting at VCF.

Why am I doing this? Here are few  of the reasons:

  • Just needed some answers from God on what he wants me to do on some personal things in my life.
  • I need physical and inner healing.
  • I need to ask Him some favors on my plans and dreams.
  • I am also praying for strength and wisdom to be able to handle the responsibilities left to me.

I won’t be very specific here. I reserve some things just between me and the Lord. If there are also things that you’ve been hoping and prayer for, please join me not maybe in fasting but in prayer. Let us claim that this year, greater things are yet to come and this year will be a good year for all of us.

Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do AMAZING things among you. –Joshua 3:5

2009 is almost over.  I just thought of writing important things that happened in my life for the whole year.
